This past weekend was truly one to remember for the Toa Payoh Guitar Club as we had the honour of performing at the SG60 Toa Payoh Central National Day Celebration Dinner 2025. 🇸🇬

Our band came together to celebrate Singapore’s 60th birthday through the universal language of music. We performed three heartfelt songs — HomeWe Will Get There, and our original composition, My Singapore — in English, Malay, Chinese, and Tamil, reflecting the rich multicultural spirit that makes Singapore so special.

In video:

  • Singers (Left to Right): Yoke Ching, Jeanie and Mary
  • Guitarists (Left to Right): Dominic, Adi and Kuan Hong
  • Cajon: Qian Wen

The evening was made even more meaningful by the presence of Advisor to Bishan-Toa Payoh, Mr. Cai Yinzhou, whose support and encouragement added to the celebratory atmosphere.

We are deeply grateful to Toa Payoh Central Community Club and the People’s Association for inviting us to be part of this joyous occasion. It was a privilege to share our music and be part of a celebration that brought our community together as one.

Happy 60th Birthday, Singapore! 🎉 Here’s to many more years of unity, harmony, and progress.

Celebrating National Day with Music: Toa Payoh Guitar Club x Re:String Ensemble

As Singapore approaches National Day, the Toa Payoh Guitar Club had the privilege of collaborating with our friends from Re:String Ensemble at Nanyang House. Celebrating the Year of the Snake with Music, Harmony and Strong Partnerships

🌸🎶 Gong Xi Fa Cai! 🎶🌸

This Chinese New Year, the Toa Payoh Guitar Club (TPGC) is thrilled to share a truly heartwarming musical celebration—a collaborative effort that brought together not just one but multiple talented ensembles! Partnering with the Restring Guitar Ensemble and even welcoming members from the NTU Guitar Ensemble, we presented an unforgettable CNY medley that embodied the true spirit of unity, festivity and shared passion for music.

Gathering at the beautiful Nanyang House, the atmosphere was electric from the start. All of us, dressed in vibrant red, symbolised the festive energy of Chinese New Year and the bonds we were strengthening through this collaboration. Red, the colour of prosperity and joy, was reflected not just in our attire but also in our music, brimming with vibrant harmonies and heartfelt dedication.

At the core of this project was the formation of a magnificent Niibori guitar orchestra—a symphony of guitars of all sizes and timbres, expertly brought together to produce a rich musical texture that celebrated harmony in the truest sense. This orchestra was a testament to what can be achieved when musicians come together as one. Fueled by shared enthusiasm, creativity and a love for music, we transformed our medley into a moving celebration of tradition and collaboration.

This partnership wasn’t just about performing together—it was also about forging friendships, sharing techniques and supporting each other’s growth. The venue, the attire, the collaborations—all came together beautifully to create a colorful mosaic of tradition, creativity, and harmony. Each pluck of a string and strum of a chord was a celebration of not just Chinese New Year but the strong ties forged through this shared passion.

From all of us at TPGC, we wish you and your loved ones a prosperous, joyful, and harmonious New Year! 🍊🧧 May the year ahead bring strength, wisdom, and abundant happy moments for all.

🎥 Watch the video below and immerse yourself in the festive vibes—don’t forget to share the joy with family and friends! ❤️
