A Heartfelt Performance at the SG60 Roadshow

On Saturday, 7 June 2025, the Toa Payoh Guitar Club brought its music to life at the SG60 Roadshow, held at the vibrant Toa Payoh HDB Hub. This event, celebrating Singapore’s 60 years of progress, was especially meaningful to us. Toa Payoh has been our home since 1974, and performing here felt like homecoming.

Music That Brought People Together

Our ensemble took the stage with a carefully selected setlist featuring “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis,” “Perfect,” and “Beauty and the Beast.” Each song carried its own magic, but “Beauty and the Beast” stood out as a family favourite, drawing smiles and swaying from parents and children alike.

It was uplifting to see so many people pause their day to enjoy the music, with some even taking a moment to chat and ask about our club. Their enthusiasm for our performance and interest in guitar music was truly rewarding, reminding us how music can create such simple yet meaningful connections within the community.

Grateful for the Opportunity

None of this would have been possible without the support of the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI) and the People’s Association. We are profoundly grateful for their invitation and their commitment to fostering community spirit.

To our members and the families who cheered us on, thank you for your encouragement. Moments like these solidify our mission to share the love of music and strengthen our ties to this incredible community.
